Privacy Policy
How this website collects, uses and looks after your information, in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Last updated: August 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
This website is run by Daniel Avital, a BACP-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice ("I", "me"). I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZB892074. You can reach me at daniel@attune-therapeutics.uk.
This notice covers the website only. Any information you share with me once we begin working together is handled separately, under the confidentiality and record-keeping agreement I provide at the start of therapy, in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.
What I collect, and why
When you contact me. If you use the contact form or email me, I receive the details you choose to share — typically your name, email address, and your message. I use this only to respond to your enquiry and, if you decide to go ahead, to arrange working together. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Please only share what feels comfortable at this stage; there is no need to include sensitive detail in a first message.
Website analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the website is used (for example, which pages are visited), so I can improve it. Analytics only runs if you accept it via the cookie banner; if you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected. Where it runs, IP addresses are anonymised. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The only non-essential cookies are those used by Google Analytics, and they are set only after you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner. A small record of your accept/decline choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked repeatedly.
Who your information is shared with
I do not sell your information, and I share it only with the service providers that help run the website:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
- Google (Analytics) — anonymised usage statistics, only with your consent.
- FormSubmit — processes contact-form submissions and delivers them to my inbox.
- My email provider — when your enquiry reaches my inbox.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they are covered by appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent).
How long I keep it
Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record, after which they are deleted. If we do not go on to work together, I will not keep your enquiry indefinitely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information I hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email me at daniel@attune-therapeutics.uk.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I would, of course, welcome the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this notice
I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
