FAQ
Common questions
Everything you might want to know before getting in touch.
What can I expect from a first session?
+
The first session is about getting to know each other. I will invite you to share what has brought you to therapy, what you are hoping for, and any concerns you have. There is no pressure — it is a space for you to explore at your own pace.
How do online sessions work?
+
I work online via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or FaceTime — whichever works best for you. All you need is a device with a camera and a private space. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person work.
Are you recognised by health insurers?
+
Yes — I am recognised by BUPA, AXA, Affinity, WPA, and Vitality. If you intend to use health insurance to fund your therapy, please let me know when you get in touch.
How long does therapy typically last?
+
This varies depending on your goals. Some clients benefit from a short-term focused piece of work (8–12 sessions), while others engage in longer-term therapy. We will review this together regularly so you are always in control.
Is everything I share confidential?
+
Yes — confidentiality is fundamental to our work. Everything you share remains private, with the exception of situations where there is a serious risk of harm, or where I am required by law to disclose.
Are you BACP accredited?
+
Yes — I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practise in accordance with their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
